SC Measles Outbreak

ISouth Carolina is currently experiencing the largest measles outbreak in the United States in more than 30 years. As of February 2026, there are 979 confirmed cases, with dozens of hospitalizations, including adults and children. What began as an isolated cluster in the Upstate has rapidly evolved into a statewide emergency, threatening vulnerable populations, straining local healthcare systems, and putting both unvaccinated and fully vaccinated families at risk.
